Re: Relegation run-in (update)
Interesting.

Stoke look fucked. Southampton have the fixtures to get out if it. Reckon we have the fixtures to finish above Brighton and Huddersfield. 36 points feels like the magic number.

I have a feeling our season is going right down to the wire and the game against the despised walrus. If we continue the 'Moyes masterclass in how to avoid relegation', I can see the possibility of tears aplenty on the final day.
Just watch his post match press conference yesterday. What a cunt the man is.

...and we MUST get a point at least from the Leicester game or it will be truly squeaky bum time last day of the season.

Man City will make fools of us, but may get something from the red side of Manchester...Leicester, who fucking knows..

Pretty confident we will stay up as I've said all along, even though we are fucking shit.

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
Don't worry, I have been reliably informed by SurfaceAgent that we didn't need to beat Stoke at home, and after that draw at home to Stoke there is no way we can go down after not going all out to beat Stoke at home.

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
Said in January that if we didn’t strengthen now and take advantage of the “easier” fixtures coming up the run in will put us down if we’re in trouble. Looking like this may well be the case.

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
35 points should.be enough. Might be close though, we really could have done with that point we chucked away yesterday.

I would rather be us than a handful of others

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
I'd love to see Mark Hughes take Southampton down but they have a relatively easy run-in. Having said that, they don't have the points on the board.

Palace and Brighton I wouldn't even say are in the mix anymore. Palace will get at least a point from those fixtures. Brighton are safe.

Huddersfield have a really tough run-in but a point against Everton should do it for them.

We need another point.

So, West Brom are down and Stoke are going with them.

The final spot will be decided when Southampton play Swansea.

Willtell - So you analyze all that without even factoring in our run in?

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
swansea v saints
stoke v swansea

couple of draws there and we are done.
Huddersfield and us will prob pick up 3 points somewhere.

nothing to be proud of though.

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
Leicester and Everton are hardly Real Madrid

If the cunt in charge picks the right line up we should take at least 4 point from those games with so much at stake

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
Stoke can't catch us, three games left including a trip to Anfield.

I still think 35 will be enough, Swansea playing Stoke and Southampton is a godsend given they either get a point each or someone gets 0 points from either of them. Not the worst situation for us. Swansea winning both puts them above us but keeps the dead men there. We certainly don't want Southampton beating Swansea but it could be all over by then anyway?

The only team that COULD realistically catch us is Southampton but they play City on the final day and probably need to turn them over to do it.

Plus if we do go down I will be blaming Michail 'Palace Fan' Antonio

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
I have us picking up pts for draws v Leicester and Everton and finishing 15th.
Brighton & Hudds to not get any pts but safe anyway and current bottom 3 to go down

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
Stoke need 7 points to get past us thanks to goal difference, even if we don't win another point. I suppose there's an outside chance we might get a couple of spankings for it to get uncomfortably close, but it should be fine.

Southampton are a bit of a worry for me. It's not impossible to see them winning two games, especially with Bournemouth safe and Everton not having much to play for. We could end up relying on Man City tonking them for goal difference on the last game of the season.

We really need something from one of our remaining games. Leicester is possible with them not having loads to play for. Everton could be massive if we go in to it needing something. Allardyce will do his best to have them right up for it as he'll relish the chance to relegate us (again) and I couldn't think of many worse teams to have to play on the occasion, given the weird hold Everton seem to have over us in the last decade. We've only beaten them on 2 of 22 occasions- and one of those was in that penalty shoot out.

We're still right in it at the moment, I think, until the games hopefully run out for Southampton. Swansea will go past us, although it's possible Huddersfield won't win any more points given their remaining fixtures.

Re: Relegation run-in (update)
Staying up on 35 points would only be two points better than when we finished bottom in 2011.

El Scorchio 12:29 Mon Apr 23
Re: Relegation run-in (update)
One thing that's clear is we can't afford to have teams putting 3-4 goals past us like yesterday.
